Listen to Terry Miles, executive director of New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation (HHC) World Trade Center (WTC) Environmental Health Center, talk about the meaning of the James Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Act. The legislation took effect on July 1, 2011 and provides funding for 5 years toward medical monitoring and treatment benefits to WTC emergency responders and people who lived, worked or went to school in Lower Manhattan at the time of 9/11. The HHC WTC Environmental Health Center is one of several Centers of Excellence receiving the funding.
