Oncology Rehab Partners (ORP), a cancer rehabilitation company based in Marlboro, MA, has launched its STAR Clinician™ Certification, a comprehensive training and certification program for clinicians working in oncology rehabilitation. Endorsed by leading cancer experts, STAR Clinician delivers evidence-based training that enables clinicians to provide superior oncology rehabilitation services.
STAR Clinician training is systematic and comprehensive, allowing clinicians to develop expertise in oncology rehabilitation that may lead to exciting new career opportunities in the rapidly expanding field of cancer survivorship. It consists of ten self-paced modules covering essential topics for survivor care, including evaluating and treating cancer survivors for pain, fatigue, deconditioning, lymphedema and a host of other problems related to the disease and treatment.
Once the initial certification is completed, continuing education training modules are available throughout the year to update STAR Clinicians on the latest oncology rehabilitation research and clinical care. These are required to maintain STAR Clinician Certification.
STAR Clinician Certification is designed for individuals, while STAR Program Certification is for hospitals and cancer centers.
The STAR products were developed by Julie Silver, MD, an assistant professor at Harvard Medical School, cancer survivor, and the author of several books on oncology rehabilitation and cancer survivorship.
