APPLE VALLEY, MN -- A new Sister Kenny Sports & Physical Therapy Center opened Jan. 16 at the Apple Valley Medical Center, Apple Valley, MN. It replaces Integrated Medical Rehabilitation (IMR), whose contract expired at the end of 2011.
"We are proud to welcome the Sister Kenny Sports & Physical Therapy Center to our facility," said Mike Foley, administrator and chief operating officer of the Apple Valley Medical Clinic, one of the other providers at the center. "We know they will offer our patients and the community high quality rehabilitation services and complement the wide range of health care services already available at the Apple Valley Medical Center."
Ryan Smith will transfer from the Sister Kenny location in Cottage Grove to become site coordinator for the new facility. Sister Kenny has also hired a number of former IMR therapists to maintain consistency for patients, according to a release.
Services offered at the new facility will include sports and orthopedic physical therapy, hand therapy, lymphedema therapy, pelvic pain/incontinence therapy, the RunSMART program with video analysis, TMJ therapy, vestibular therapy, workplace health and rehabilitation and the AlterG Anti-Gravity Treadmill.
Sister Kenny Rehabilitation Institute is part of Allina Hospitals and Clinics and provides rehabilitation care at nine Allina hospitals. Outpatient care is provided at more than 20 sites of Sister Kenny Sports & Physical Therapy Center.
