UPMC Sports Medicine is the title sponsor of the new All Sports Expo and Conference to be held 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., March 20 and 21 at Heinz Field. "Celebrating Student Athletes" is the theme of the event, targeting student athletes and their parents, scholastic and youth sports coaches and other local sports professionals.
"With Pittsburgh being one of the country's largest student athlete demographics, we are pleased to hold the region's first sports-related exposition and educational conference aimed at catering to the growth, development and success of student athletes," said Dave Amati, vice president of business development for Coral Productions, the parent company of the All Sports Expo and Conference. "We also are very excited to have UPMC Sports Medicine on board as the title sponsor."
The conference portion of the event will feature seminars and demonstrations by experts from UPMC and local athletic organizations. Topics will include college recruiting, performance optimization, injury management and prevention, leadership and sportsmanship, mental training, nutrition, on-field emergency management and fitness for adults over age 40.
The exhibition portion will showcase sports-related products and services designed to enhance athletes' performance, education and safety. For those who pre-register for the All Sports Expo and Conference online or by calling 1-800-997-4438, the cost is $10 for students, $20 for adults and $8 per person for teams of five or more student athletes. On-site registration rates are $12 for students, $25 for adults and $10 per person for teams.
