Physical Therapy Associates' Zupkus Receives Award

STORRS, CT -- The Neag School of Education Alumni Society of the University of Connecticut has awarded Mary Duffy Zupkus, PT, MPA, with the Outstanding Physical Therapy Professional Award.

Zupkus was founding member of Physical Therapy Associates of Concord, MA, where she continues as owner and president. She earned her bachelor of science degree cum laude in 1973 from the University of Connecticut, according to an article on Wicked Local.

"Mary is an accomplished clinician and business leader who has made outstanding contributions to her community and profession," stated Craig R. Denegar, PhD, PT, ATC, FNATA, in his letter of nomination.

Zupkus was appointed her current position in 2004. She has served as a Massachusetts delegate to the APTA House of Delegates for eight years.

Zupkus is also a founding member and chairperson of the Massachusetts Chapter of the APTA's Private Practice Special Interest Group. She has been a clinical instructor at the MGH Institute for Health Professions.
